Chith Export Facility: A New Approach
McConnell Dowell
Rio Tinto’s Chith Export Facility, near Weipa in Far North Queensland, is a large, complex and remotely located construction project that has revolutionised the design and construction of major wharf infrastructure. Constructed in just ten months, REEL IMAGE was onsite in both China and Far North Queensland to capture the prefabrication and assembly of the facility.
Starting a career at Rio Tinto
Rio Tinto
REEL IMAGE has produced dozens of videos for Rio Tinto. Our latest effort was this profile of Weipa senior school student, Rachel Brooker. Rachel is completing a school-based traineeship with Rio Tinto at the Weipa heavy equipment workshop. The video shows Rachel in her traineeship role as well as offering a glimpse of the Cape York lifestyle.
What is domestic and family violence?
Queensland Courts Service
REEL IMAGE produced a series of videos to explain the court process to people in domestic and family violence situations. In collaboration with the courts we drafted several video scripts focusing on the information required to take part in the legal process. The six finished videos were also translated into Arabic, Mandarin, Farsi, Spanish, Thai and Vietnamese.
Nationally Recognised VET Training – Success Stories in Queensland Schools
Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority
The QCAA wanted to showcase best practice VET training in schools. We filmed interviews with teachers and students involved in some of the most outstanding VET programs across the state. We also filmed them in action at school and in the workplace. The finished productions were a longform ‘doco’ as well as shorter ‘vignette’ style videos.
Engineering the extraordinary
Bechtel Corporation
REEL IMAGE has produced hundreds of videos for Bechtel’s historic megaproject construction program at Curtis Island, near Gladstone. Construction of the LNG export hub was part of the largest concentration of private-capital investment in Australia’s history. We were onsite regularly over a five year period to film every aspect of construction.
Better Councils Better Communities
Local Government Association of Queensland
Filming for this thirty second commercial involved traveling to north
Queensland, Southwest Queensland and filming in Brisbane. We did a series of fast interviews in each of these locations, as well as filming overlay of the local
communities in action. A UAV (drone) was also used to capture some unique perspectives for the commercial.
